How does Samfora work?

Just like you have an account for payments and one for savings, Samfora is an account for generosity. We help you navigate the nonprofit sector to fuel your engagement, cultivate your generosity, and best of all: it's completely free.

Does it cost anything to donate via Samfora?

No, it's completely free to donate via our platform. When you donate 100 SEK, the entire amount goes to the organization you've chosen to support. Fees associated with donations that Samfora cannot control are covered by the nonprofit organization, such as bank fees for card payments or monthly fees for maintaining a Swish number.

Is it safe to donate through Samfora?

Yes. We use SSL/TLS and encryption, and only use anonymized data to analyze giving patterns. Read more in our Samfora Terms of Service & Privacy Policy.

How do you make money?

We offer an AI‑based donor‑management system for nonprofits as a premium service. It's currently developed with 8 mid‑sized Swedish nonprofit partners and is entirely optional. For nonprofits, we provide free transactions/donations (which today cost Swedish nonprofits ~300 MSEK/year) and better donor management. Do you sell my data?

No, we do not sell your data. With your consent in settings, we share necessary data (e.g., email or personal identity number when a gift qualifies for Tax deduction) with the nonprofit you donate to, at no cost. We use anonymized donor data to improve the service. For more information, read our Samfora Terms of Service & Privacy Policy.

Will you promote content on the platform?

No, we don't promote content to make money. We may curate content—for example, highlighting organizations supporting Ukraine or Gaza, or philanthropic doubling campaigns—to make giving easier and increase engagement.

Which nonprofits are shown on the site?

Organizations with a registered 90‑account are welcome to join Samfora. Smaller organizations without the resources to obtain a 90‑account are also welcome if they run a serious nonprofit operation. Our requirements then are: external auditor; at least 3 years of operations; legally registered nonprofit; bylaws clearly stating the organization's purpose.

We're continuously onboarding partners. If you can't find the organization you're looking for, please recommend it and we'll reach out.

Why should I give to charity—won't they just waste my money?

Swedish nonprofits are, overall, highly transparent and effective and clearly report both transparency and the impact of gifts. Scandals occur, but they are the exception.

Why should I give via Samfora instead of directly to the organization?

It doesn't matter how you give—it matters that you give! With us you get a historical overview, automatic tax deduction, and broad insights into your giving.
